ABOUT JIMMY MALLIA

I had a truly great experience growing up on a small Island. My journey in music began there. I was taught to play guitar by a nun at a Catholic school. I sang and played in school masses. I then acted in school plays and sang in school musicals.
After high school, I put the guitar down for years. I graduated from the University Of Texas. I started a career in insurance after graduation. After a few years I married, moved to Lafayette LA and had three daughters. I divorced after 10 years of marriage. I remarried and raised my daughters.
I didn't pick the guitar back up again until 16 years ago. I started to take lessons, brushed up on my playing and began writing songs. My songs were just my way of telling stories about my life and people in my life. They were just for me. However, after years of doing that, I decided to try to release and share my shares. Thus began my journey into the music industry.
My first release was a song named “Hey Hey.” It is the story of my own journey to recovery from alcoholism but sung in the old style barroom sing along style.
